May day 2010

Leaders of every race and age
Join to praise His holy name

Asking that this may day
Won't be like when it originated
The haymarket streets
With police and angry employees
Is a sad and desolate scene
Worth praying for I think

Meanwhile readers are filled with glee
Getting comic books for free
Got some x-men with wolverine
Making meat of his enemies
What a contrast between
Things for the days theme
But neither apply to me
As I'm working to pay lifes fees

Why's it gotta be so hard to reach
For the stars why are they so far

Like an unmanned oil sub coming apart
I can't see through the muddy dark

I dream of my songs on the radio
But country drones are the overtone
Tim McGraw singing something slow
It's his birthday today too ya know
